Barron's just sent a carpet man to our house to do repairs. His name is Denis Paquet. He patched the subfloor underneath, stretched the carpet back, seamed it back together and put the right size metal cap in the doorway that had been done wrong. It is perfect, you cannot see the seam, the carpet has no slack in it, could not ask for better!
